We see more and more manufacturers and retailers attempting to use reverse auction or other e-Sourcing tools to select logistics service providers in Asia. You and your colleagues are invited to join the Council for a new workgroup discussion on "Reverse Auction in Logistic Services - The Right Route" on Oct 20, 2010 in Shanghai. The workshop will start with a presentation, followed by a case study and a group discussion around the following:

Various methods and approaches have been attempted. Some use it to qualify logistics suppliers while others use reverse auction to get the lowest price. Some use this tool to collect price information and fall back to one-on-one negotiation with incumbent logistics providers. During this workshop, the speaker will discuss how other successful companies do it, their sourcing processes and how internal issues are resolved.

Reverse Auction tool is only half of the success. How skilful companies manage the sourcing process will determine the success or failure. The speaker would like to share with you some best practices and lesson learnt from other companies that have implements similar projects in China.
